A crypto whale has transferred 3,704 Bitcoin (BTC) worth approximately $315 million from Kraken. This move follows a recent surge in whale purchases as crypto prices gain traction. Despite major headwinds sending digital asset prices to multi-month lows, several analysts believe the bull run is still in play. Bitcoin whale activity has spiked in the past week, with the price of BTC soaring over 9% from last week’s lows to $84,343.
Kraken Lays Off Hundreds of Staff Ahead of IPO
Crypto exchange giant Kraken has laid off hundreds of staffers across all areas of the business in recent months. The layoffs are part of the firm’s efforts to streamline its operations ahead of a potential public listing in the U.S. Kraken was reported to have laid off about 15% of its workforce, or 400 staff, at the end of October last year. Since Silicon Valley investor and Kraken board member Arjun Sethi became co-CEO alongside David Ripley, hundreds more employees have been laid off in a rolling program of firings.
